,I'm beyond thrilled to share the news that 2 of the Virginia Young Poets in the Community selected in December last. year, have just won awards in the recently concluded annual Poetry Society of Virginia Student Contests.

Congratulations to Elaine Zhang, who won Third Place in contest category 2 (students in grades 5-6) for her poem "Society's Silent Sorrow," and First Place for her poem "Dancing in the Rain" in contest category 7 (The Poetry Society Prize for Virginia Students only, in grades 6-8); and to Kashvi Ramani, who won First Place in contest category 8 (The Virginia Student Prize for Virginia Students only, in grades 9-12) for her poem "Finding You. Category judges were Sue Corbett, Grace Cavalieri, and Zeina Azzam.

Watch these young poets— they're here to change the world one poem at a time.
